If you're wondering or hesitating, here are some good reasons to upgrade to v2.1: Ability to send and receive MMS messages Embedded delivery receipt information for outbound SMS Ability to configure separate callback URLs for SMS and MMS Ability to send compact and JSON API requests To get started with the upgrade Log in to your Flowroute account . Visit Preferences > API Control to update your SMS or MMS settings. Select v2.1 in the SMS Format drop-down list and click Save . Reverting to v2 is currently not an option. Self-Provision Flowroute DIDs for Messaging

By default, Flowroute Messaging is disabled on all DIDs. To enable SMS/MMS functionality, simply go to your Flowroute DIDs page and follow the steps described below. To enable Messaging Log in to Manage portal and select DIDS in the menu Select DID(s) on the list Click the dropdown Choose a DID Action , then select Enable Messaging as a Messaging Option Hit the Apply Action button. A confirmation box will appear to ensure you understand the additional changes to your account. If you approve the information, click the 'OK' button to initiate the enablement process. If the change is successful, you will see this confirmation box. To disable Messaging Follow the same process, only select Disable Messaging as a Messaging Option .

Due to the decision made by Verizon, as of this Friday, Oct 21, 2022 all  10DLC  messages sent to Verizon customers from non-registered telephone numbers will be blocked. Flowroute is in continuous discussion with our Messaging provider seeking options to minimize service disruption. We urge customers to submit any eligible unregistered numbers for 10DLC registration  here  ASAP. Text-enabled Toll-Free Verification Process

Due to modern industry standards, Flowroute customers are now required to have all text-enabled Toll-Free numbers verified. Verification will permit text-enabled toll-free numbers to continue using the Messaging service without any interruptions. This verification will not add any cost to your current or future messaging enablement. What happens to your current toll-free Messaging service Note: Keep in mind that toll-free numbers are considered “pending” if they have been submitted through the Toll-Free verification process but have not yet been verified. The Toll-Free verification process ensures that services running on TFNs comply with carrier policies and industry best practices. Verification also provides the Toll-Free messaging aggregator with relevant service information to reduce the likelihood of false positive filtering and wrongful SPAM blocks. These practices promote a sustainable model for healthy commercial texting, which is good for both consumers and message senders. Consumer complaints Major operators in North America support consumer-driven spam controls. Their mobile subscribers can forward unwanted or unconsented text messages to a dedicated short code, 7726 (it spells “SPAM” on a standard keypad). Carriers monitor consumer complaints sent to this service for numbers on the network. If multiple complaints are received for a sender, then a notification is sent to the message sender that includes the source phone number, destination phone number, timestamp, and original message ID that was given to the message sender upon message submission. Callback URLs provide our messaging API with a location to accept new messages. You can find existing Callback URLs and set Callback URLs on your Manage > DID page. To set Callback URL for your DID Log into the Manage portal . Navigate to the "DID" panel on the left side. Under the tab "Manage" you have a list of available to you DIDs on the account. To set a new Callback URL on a message-enabled DID, use the checkbox and select the DID you wish to update. Above the DIDs there is a dropdown that has the "Select an Action" default displayed.   When you use the dropdown, under Messaging Options, you will find "Set Callback URL" option Select that option and use the orange "Apply Action" button on the right to execute the selection on the checked DIDs. Utilize Flowroute’s carrier-grade SMS/MMS capabilities to communicate with customers using existing Toll-free and long-code numbers in the United States and Canada. IMPORTANT: Short-code numbers are not supported on the outbound messaging service at this time. Although, inbound messages from short-code numbers are supported since 2024. Introduction to 10DLC Registration Since 2020, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and other Mobile Network Operators (further: MNOs) began launching their 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) programs designated for business-to-consumer (aka "A2P" - Application-to-Person) messaging over local phone numbers. IMPORTANT: You should already have an SMS-enabled number with a valid 10DLC and Campaign plus an active SMS billing plan prior to beginning this guide. Log in to your Flowroute account and navigate to the “DIDs” menu to view your SMS-enabled numbers under the “Manage” tab. Your numbers should read as Registered in the “Messaging Status” column.
